$339,492 Bill for Williamson County – Morton Case

This blog has made many posts about the Michael Morton case, and the inefficiencies of the Texas Justice system.  The Austin American Statesman has published another article to this point.  Today, it has been reported that Attorney Rusty Hardin has billed Williamson County $339,492 for his work on the Morton case.  You can read the whole article by clicking here.


There are many necessary things that Texas counties need to pay for.  This is not one of them.  Not to say that the work did not need to be done.  The salt in the wound that is the Michael Morton case, is that it all stems from internal wrongdoings, from public figures that the county later decided needed to be given more power.
